dear unemployment --
we've had such a great time together, you and i. these long months that i have spent with you constantly at my side have been glorious and happy, and i enjoyed the time immensely.
you kept me company when no one else would. we've had great fun together. you have been my constant companion through thick and through thin and were patient with me whenever i chose to while away the hours reading books, playing video games, or oohing-and-aahing over designer clothes on-line that i cannot afford. you must know that i am so very grateful for all the time we've spent together and for your loving companionship.
but, dear unemployment, i'm afraid that our time together must come to an end. you see, there is someone else who now desires and demands my time:
money.
i am therefore sorry to say, unemployment, that you and i will soon part. it was not an easy decision -- but just know that, in truth, my heart remains true to you and your carefree, lackadaisical nature, even as i find myself caving in to the demands of money. i cannot help but be seduced by money's allure . . . . however, even though temptation has gotten the better of me, in my heart, you are the one for me, and i still yearn for you, unemployment, as much as i ever have before.
but we still have a little time left. i need not become money's slave until monday next, which has been designated my first day of work. we therefore still have time together, you and i. so let us make the best of it and enjoy our remaining days together before we must be parted.
lovingly yours,
abbagirl
