i don't wanna see another tuna roll ever again!
well, okay, at least not until next week. :-T
tonight was one of those nights when i was torn between what to watch on t.v. -- game 2 of the jazz-rockets playoffs or dancing with the stars.
i tried to evenly divvy up my time between them -- but to tell the truth, basketball won out the most in the end. it was just such a fantastic game! the jazz didn't really put the rockets away until eight minutes into the fourth quarter. carlos boozer, deron williams, memo okur, and ak-47 are just amazing! and that little toss-up basket by kutie kyle korver, his only basket of the game, was totally sweet!
that means the jazz are already up two games to none, with the next two games to be played in salt lake.
yay! do i smell sweep??
sorry, t-mac -- but i truly think that the reason why you're down two games is because of that lame undershirt of yours.
wtf?! a one-sleeve underarmor shirt?
sorry, dude, that just looks stupid.
the nba playoffs are truly the best part of the spring season! that, and spring sales, too, of course. :) but no, the jazz aren't the only team i'm keeping an eye on; each of the match-ups for this first round, in both the western and the eastern conferences, are really exciting! never have i been so excited to watch every single game in the first round before!
*giddy claps of joy*
anyhow, basketball aside, i am seriously whupped today. who knew that doing absolutely nothing at a bureaucratic job could be so exhausting?
i actually hadn't seen my immediate supe since last thursday. i kept waiting around the office, popping my head into her office, every hour during the morning to see if she was in, before finally giving up. at last she arrived at the office at about 3:30. she stuck her head into my office, said hi, and asked what i was up to.
i, of course, had been up to absolutely nothing. and i think i had a deer-in-headlights look on my face. nonetheless, i managed to make something up that was somewhat convincing -- but i think she gave me a weird look, as if to say she knew i had been screwing around anyway. then she said she'd try to catch up with me later to give me assignments (she never did). she also warned me that tomorrow she'd be around and it'd be a busy day -- and then she dashed off, never to be seen nor heard from again.
i'm told i'd love the show the office. apparently, the humor on that show is supposed to be something i can relate to.
i'm sure i definitely could. :-P
but i didn't really screw around all day. only for parts of the day. ;) i did learn quite a bit about the current state of the department overall. i wish i could blog about it openly and talk about the stuff that's at least already in the public purview. but i can't risk being googled and found out. :-P suffice to say, there's a lot of really promising stuff to be done -- and when i'm actually able to get started working on them, i think it'd be great fun. i can already see why my office was interested in hiring me -- the damned law degree. too bad they still don't realize that it's just a piece of paper and that i don't actually come equipped with the actual brains for it.
:-T
but from what i can tell, there have been four federal cases involving my department over the course of the past, i dunno, six, eight years. each of the cases comprises both separate and overlapping aspects of the department that the courts expect to be made over to comply with parts of the u.s constitution. it's absolute craziness! but i'm excited. i've never worked on something on this big of a scale before. there are basic human rights involved and also political forces at work. between those, and other, factors, it's no wonder that things deteriorated to such a point where the federal court felt it could no longer rely on the state to get things up to constitutional muster.
no, i have no idea what i'm talking about, either. but somehow it made sense when it was in my head.
i'm yawning like crazy -- time for bed.

but isn't it great that i'm now able to regulate my own sleeping hours naturally? who knew it'd only take a week for my body to start craving sleep before midnight!
wow. craziness.
