tomorrow's my day

it's my day tomorrow!



one of the secretaries for my office has been putting together a birthday list for our office. i was one of the few who hadn't let her know when mine was, and when she asked me, point-blank, i demurred.

however, i sense that there is a conspiracy on and that she has somehow found out. and i think she was encouraged in this endeavor by dimples, who knew my day was coming up soon but could not recall the exact day.

so i think dimples went to the secretary, had the secretary go through my personnel folder, and then they both were able to obtain the information they had sought for their own personal purposes.

i hadn't suspected a thing, though.

until this evening.

i was checking work e-mail, even though, of course, i'm not obligated to do so during my non-working hours. there were several new messages. i opened one that had been sent from my boss.

the e-mail gave me an assignment that i will probably work on tomorrow.

and in closing, it also said, "Happy Birthday!!!"

i'm sure he expected for me to see that e-mail first thing tomorrow morning, not tonight.

but now the cover is blown.

how in the world could he have known that?

i certainly did not tell him!

thus, i suspect that the conspiracy that will achieve full fruition tomorrow.

there will be some sort of birthday-related surprise in store for me.

i'm wary. . . .

but only because . . . .
