"i just wanna go somewhere and be with you."
that's what dimples was telling me.
we had made our excuses with nymph and her boyfriend and left their apartment on the pretense of going home. but dimples had other ideas. she wasn't ready to go home yet, and she had already made arrangements for her ex to pick up their daughter from daycare, which he had grudgingly agreed to.
we were now sitting in my car. it was only about 8 p.m., and the evening was dark. i hadn't even started the engine yet. as soon as we'd gotten into the car, she had given me a come-hither look, with an invitation writ all across the features of her face. and as if i had no will of my own, i had complied, leaning over and closing the distance between us to pull her close and kiss her.
it was just as if we hadn't already broken up, as if it were the most natural thing to do. her lips were soft and familiar, and we kissed each other delicately.
after we parted parted, she said, "let's go somewhere."
"where?" i asked.
"i don't care," she said. "i just wanna go somewhere and be with you."
i smiled and felt a warm glow spread through me, culminating in a blush in my cheeks that the darkness hid. i started the engine and began to drive.
i didn't really know where to go, where she wanted to go. but i headed downtown. dimples found my hand in the darkness and held it in both of hers, bringing my hand up to her face to kiss it and suck on my fingers. her warm tongue caressed my fingertips in the moist cavern of her mouth. i felt my body tingle in response, and the warm flush i felt throughout my body increased in temperature and intensity.
but the euphoric arousal didn't last long. dimples began turning into a mean drunk by the time we hit our destination.
she was cussing me out, accusing me of stuff, stirring up arguments. but the thing is, i didn't really know what the hell she was talking about. her arguments and accusations were incoherent. they got me flushed but in a different way – in an angry way. but i kept calm and bit back any retorts; it's pointless to argue with drunkards when they're over the top.
once dimples hit the mean mark, the night started going downhill a bit. we ended up getting kicked out of the club, and so i drove her home. the ride home started out as angry and snippy, but then dimples' head started lolling forward, and it was obvious she was a goner.
she was passing out.
i got her back to her house. luckily, her roommate was out. she woke up after i parked the car and called her name and shook her gently. she tried to find her house key, and when she couldn't find it, i took her purse and began sifting the contents. we both then began semi-freaking out because we couldn't find her house key. that is, until i ran my hand under her butt and discovered that she'd been sitting on them the whole time.
i got her in the house. even though she'd been totally passed out for a time in the car while i drove her home, she was instantly coherent once she was inside her house. she went to find some medicine for her headache, and i followed her into the kitchen to help her out. she located the meds in a cabinet, then asked me to open it for her. i did as she asked and watched as she washed the medicine down with a glass of cold water
i was feeling coolly distant from her. her rant at me in the car, although it was all randomly incoherent, had pissed me off enough to eradicate whatever physical longing i had for her.
