BANNED

what a week!

i am completely and utterly exhausted. this weekend will be a blessed occurrence, if there really is such a thing.

my friend's wedding reception was nice. she looked very beautiful – tall and statuesque in he white, sequined gown. her new husband was even taller than she. when i shook his hand after meeting him, his hand was warm and firm in mine. i instantly liked him.

it was obvious that she had already told him about me, her good friend who now lives in california. the three of us chatted together amiably for a while, when he suddenly said, "hey! aren't you the friend of who went to school and got two masters degrees at the same time?"

my face reddened. unfortunately, i am a modest type of girl and i don't like highlighting stuff about myself. i tend for the self-deprecating. so i stammered. "uh . . . well, not exactly –"

my friend interrupted. "no, it was a law degree and a masters," she said triumphantly and smiling in my face.

it's crazy to me how people think it was a huge astronomical feat, doing that. but really, it wasn't! it just required me to spend a little more time in the classroom or studying each day than the normal student from either program tended to o. b.f.d. but this particular friend always teasingly brags about that for me to other people on my behalf. enough time lapses in-between our abilities to see each other and hang out, so it always catches me off-guard when she does that.

unfortunately, i didn't get a chance to stay in town very long, and the morning right after, i began the long road back home. that was two days ago. i managed to get home during the early evening of wednesday.

having had the bar exam last week, for which i'd requested the entire week off, then having tuesday and wedneday off this week, you can imagine the log-jam that was created right here on my desk at the office as a result of all this extraneous stuff. it's cool – it keeps me busy. but it has also been a bit overwhelming at times. and i seem to be on my boss' shit list for the time being. . . .

anyway, yesterday, i discovered, to my utter dismay and amazement, that my office now blocks blogger.

that explains why i haven't been able to post in some time. i swear, it's not been for lacking of trying. :-T but i am blocked, banned, censored!

i think the authorities are on to me. . . .
